Dr. Robert C. Brown is Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering Departments at Iowa State University and director of the Center for Sustainable Environmental Technologies (CSET).  Professor Brown teaches courses in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer in the undergraduate program.  He teaches courses in combustion and fluidized bed technology at the graduate level. 

Research interests include thermal processing of biomass and coal, hydrodynamics and heat transfer in fluidized beds, and sustainable energy technology.
