The term before you are scheduled to graduate,
your advisor will ask you to sign up for an appointment to
meet with him or her during dead week. During this
meeting the two of you will go through your degree audit and
make sure that you are enrolled in all of the classes you need
to graduate. Your advisor will also ask you the
following questions:
Have
you turned in your graduation
application?
The graduation application
is important because it is what "gets the ball rolling" for
your graduation evaluation. If you do not submit a
graduation application, your advisor will not receive a
degree audit for you during the first week of the term and
your name will not appear on the University's list of
graduating students.
Do you plan to take the Fundamentals
of Engineering Exam?
If you plan to take the FE
Exam, your advisor will provide you with the forms you need
to apply for the exam and to have ISU certify that you are a
graduating senior.
If you will be a spring or
summer graduate, you must have all materials, along with
your exam fee submitted by March 1 and your exam will be
sometime in mid April.
If you will be a fall
graduate, you must have all materials, along with your exam
fee submitted by September 1 and your exam will be sometime
in late October.

during your graduation semester, go to this site:

What
to expect after your graduation term begins.
Your advisor will receive
your final degree audit during the first week of your
graduation term, assuming you have submitted a graduation
application. Advisors will check each of their
students' audits once more to make sure all B.S.M.E.
requirements are satisified. You will receive an
e-mail from the Advising Center asking you to pick up your
final audit. Even though your advisor has reviewed
your audit, you should carefully review it yourself.
If you see anything that looks out of place, or if you have
concerns, let your advisor know as soon as
possible.
Clearance
for graduation by the graduation evaluator.
The College of Engineering
graduation evaluator will review your audit against degree
requirements about one month after the start of the
term. If the evaluator does not find any problems,
then you will receive a form in the mail that says "no
problems found, cleared for graduation."
Shortly after the last day
of the term to drop classes, the evaluator will check your
schedule to see if you have dropped any classes required for
graduation. If you still meet all graduation
requirements, you will not receive any
additional information. In other words, after you have
been cleared for graduation, no news is good news.
One more review will be
conducted after the end of the semester to make sure that
you completed all of your courses with passing grades.
About 3 weeks after the
end of the term, you will receive your
diploma. |
